BAMBOO’S PRODUCTION PROCESS

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants and is one of the most eco-friendly materials. In Vietnam, bamboo both grows naturally and is cultivated in highlands and delta areas. There are more than 1400 species of bamboo, the commercial bamboo can be grown and reach full height in 3 to 4 years.

1) Bamboo processing.
After harvesting, bamboo then goes into soaking process under water and mud for more than 90 days to prevent woodworms and insects. After that, bamboo is removed from water, and dried under the sunlight.
Then the soaked bamboo will be cut into into small slats with width of 1-2 cm for different products.

2) Molding/ Shape making.
Bamboo slats will be coiled or pressed depending on the type of product requirement which could be round or square shaped.

3) Semi finished products.
After molding or shaping, products will be glued then sand washed to have the smooth surface as the requirements base on the agreed specs with customers.

4) Finished products.
When finishing the gluing and sand washing, the semi finish products will be move the finished area for coating or painting or water-resistant glue which makes them firm and durable. Then they will be dried for around 4-6 hours to reach the outcome moisture level at 10-15%. This is such an important process to make sure that products will not emit moisture and crack again when they are in cold and dry climate.

5) Quality assurance.
At every single stage of production, we all have our quality checking to make sure that the raw material are met the requirements for spec. This way is to eliminate the defect and work as soon as possible so as reducing cost and time for making products.
A part from quality checking at every stage, we also do the final quality checking is done 3-5 days for finished products. For every order and shipment, we always use random checking method by SQL2.4 to identify the quality of the whole lot. If the products are passed the quality checked, products can be shipped, if not then the whole lot will be checked and reworked. Quality assurance team are well train and supervised to make sure the quality of products are met the agreed specs with customers. All checked records are kept for every order and shipment.

About coir

Coir is known as one of the fastest growing and renewable resources. It is 100% organic and environmental friendly. Now coir is widely used in many different types in the world. In horticulture, coir pot can be used to replace the plastic pot which is not good for environments and plant as well as plant. Especially plastic pot will cause transplant shock when moving plant from pot to soil. Coir pith can be used to as soil media to improve the soil condition thanks to the retaining water. Or coir pith can be buffered to use as an alternative of peat moss which is in danger due to the aggressive exploitation. Exploiting Peat moss also hurting our environment since it release a huge amount of carbon dioxide to our living planet which is already over polluted.

Another advantage of coir is that it anti harmful fungus which is well proved by researches and practical.

1)       Collecting coco husk and processing

Collecting coconut husk to the plant and separate husk into fiber and peat. Pith will be processed to reduce the salt then being used in production. Depending on the type of product that will determine the method to treat the pith in different ways. At each stage we all have the quality control to check the quality of input material so as to assure that final products are met the specification committed with customers.

2)      Producing soil media.

After reducing EC, Coir pith is being used as soil medium in bagged or compressed in many different type of shapes to promote planting grow better.

3)       Making coir pot.

Coir pot are being used in horticulture to replace plastic pots with a wide range of sizes since it help to reduce the transplant shock, contribute nutrition and give more air to plants when it breakdown. In home and gardening, Coir can be used as hanging basket to replace the plastic liner or can be used as decorative and protective tool on the surface from weeds for the pot or gardening bed by using plant liner or coco mulch.

4)      Quality assurance.

Like Bamboo production process, we strictly follow our quality assurance process to make sure every single product come out of the plant has zero defect to meet our customers’ requirement and commitment.

Happy customer is our goal and our success!
